Bayside @ Anaheim HOB (i was robbed)
I hope the guys from Bayside AntPants and the rest read this cause i’m way to chicken to say it to their face.
No offence I feel raped on the HOB Anaheim show. I saw them there in 07 with the sleeping (who were also fucking amazing). And bayside was the best show i’ve ever seen in 07 at HOB Anaheim.
I couldn’t hear anthony for the first 3 songs i was in the 2nd from the stage.
Jacks Guitar solos I couldn’t hear at all! (come on devotion and desire with no jack solos is like kool-aid with out sugar.
I didn’t wanna say anything at the show.
I think I can never come close to actually not looking like an idiot infront of my favorite band.
Every time I see them or meet them i get super nervous and never say the things I have thought about saying since the last show. ARG.
I’m sure he thinks i’m a fucking weirdo. naming my kid Raneri and all but the truth is If Anthony Raneri is my “Bob Dylan” of my fucked up Generation and I love his lyrics and humor and musical genious then so what right?.
If I named my kid Dylan after bob dylan would it be a big deal? If I named my kid Strummer after Joe Strummer would I be crazy? (and beleive me I would but my friend Keith already name his kid that 2 years ago and I can’t bite him)
And I really like his lyrics and band and I wouldn’t have had this baby if it wasn’t for bayside bringing paul and I together.
I hope he understands i’m not some crazy ass stalker. I’m not “in love” with him. Or wishing it was his baby or anything remotely crazy like that.
I feel guitly almost for telling him about it. He did say congrats which was cool but I walked away thinking OMG i hope he doesn’t think I’m a fucking lunitic.
I just hate when you meet a band and the singer or bandmates are arseholes or think they are totally bad ass. I never got that feeling from the dudes in bayside. Infact in San Antonio they let me hang out backstage with them. That was amazing.
I’ve met a shit load of “famous” people, dave grohl, Lars of Rancid, Johnny two bags, Tommy Lee, Tom Green, Jason Alexander, Ron Howard, Pat Smear etc and never got freaked out about saying the wrong thing. But for some reason I feel like SUPER FUCKING NERD SUPREEM when i’m around Bayside. Maybe I’m paranoid.
I told Nick via AIM once. I don’t like a band cause the dudes are hot, or they have cool shirts or they have catchy tunes. I used to work at tower and now HT because MUSIC is my everything.
Music never lets you down. Music is always there for you. People who can bring me a sence of calm, happiness or joy from music such as bayside I am eternally greatful.
So Mr. Anthony Raneri aka AntPants I hope if you read this you get what I mean.
